Tennis is a great game to watch and to bet on, and truly an international sport. Nearly all sports fans follow the grand slam competitions like the French Open, Wimbledon, the U.S. Open and the Australian Open. But there are many more major events that sports books offer odds to both win outright and for matchups, such as the Pacific Life Open in Indian Wells, California.
To be successful at tennis betting, the handicapper must follow carefully each tournament of the season, making note of player rankings, results, day or night schedules, indoor court or outdoor court, and the playing surfaces. Some players favor indoor courts, others are noted grass specialists, while certain players excel on clay.
Standard tennis betting is wagering on which player will win the tournament. However, major sportsbooks offer odds on head-to-head matchup play, also. |
